She never misses a beat.I'd actually like to give this album 4.5 stars if I could. Her performances are energetic and yet nuanced. The only thing that keeps it from being five stars is questionable mixing on a couple of tracks, especially the opener, "Nobody Does It Better." Simon's vocals are mixed real low in that track, but the production improves throughout the rest of the program.Very enjoyable and highly recommended. "Greatest Hits Live" is an exceptionally well-done live album. Carly Simon used to be afflicted by stage fright in the early years of her career, but there is no sign of that in her confident renderings of her best-known songs.
I had this as a tape first ,then now a cd.It's has always reminded me of a soft summer evening ,with friends.Every time I hear it, it reminds me of summer time.I think it's one of her best works, and have no complants whatsoever.
The recorded sound is all we could ask. She does here old standards to perfection, and puts a great spin on some newer music. "Two Hot Girls" is a treat. Sadly, this is the only live Carly album I know about, but it's a five star winner. Fabulous album.get it.you'll be glad you did. Some singers have "pirates" available, but I don't think Carly does. Carly is said to suffer from severe stage fright; she has good company.Rosa Ponselle used to pray she'd get killed on the way to the Opera House [don't read more than I intend into the comparison; Carly is beautiful, fabulous, wonderful, and the dream girl of half the guys in the country; Rosa was merely the greatest singer that ever lived]. The music here is well up to the standard we expect.
